Here’s an embarrassing confession for you:
I am completely and utterly addicted to morning television show, Sunrise. Yep, that’s right. I can’t start a morning without it. And I’m not even an early riser. Nope. I actually tape an entire, three hour, live programme so that I haven’t missed one little bit of Mel and Kochie when I stumble out of bed at 10am.
So what is it that I love so much about Sunrise? Well, I’m glad you asked. The intellectual side of me (if it exists) would like to say that I like to keep myself informed on what’s going on in the world and that Sunrise provides the perfect opportunity to get across the daily news. But let’s be honest, if that was my only motive I’d probably be much better off listening to Radio National Breakfast. So, the truth is, I love the team. In fact, I love them so much that they’re my substitute family for the duration of the show.
Kochie (David Koch) is just like your geeky uncle; giving financial advice and making Dad jokes which, let’s face it, we’re all just pretending not to love. Mel (Melissa Doyle) is the true mother hen with her kind and thoughtful nature but she also knows how to have a good laugh. And then there’s Nat. Where to start with Nat? She’s your blunt aunty with a somewhat quirky but hilarious sense of humour, and I must confess that she’s my favourite Sunrise family member. (Yeah yeah, I know. We shouldn’t choose favourite family members. Whatever. Nat wins.) Then, of course, there's Beretts, Fifi and Grant to top off my Sunrise viewing of a morning. And don’t even get me started on the joy that is Larry and Kylie at 9am.
When you’re watching a three hour show like Sunrise, there are certain priceless moments that you hang out for. It’s the light banter between the hosts or the moments that give you a good ol’ belly laugh in between the news bulletins that are the beauty of Sunrise. But even better than that, it’s when that good ol’ belly laugh comes up unexpectedly, and not quite where it’s meant to.
So you can imagine my excitement the other day when this happened:
Enough said.

Firstly, the facts
Ah the famous words "I hate starting..." Who was it who said that???
Oh right. That was me. About starting a blog. Not two minutes ago. It turns out it’s not as easy as it looks and I have not got as much to say as I thought I would. But here’s what you should know:
1. Palindromes are my favourite things, like, uh, ever. (I'm particularly enthusiastic about palindromic number plates.)
2. So it would make sense that something with such beautiful symmetry as a butterfly thrills me like nothing else.
3. I’m a couch potato.
2. I love to write, play and listen to music, and every so often I’m compelled to do a singing book review or force my family to sing canons with me.
1. I sometimes get distracted from the task at hand because I become addicted to watching my dog sleep.
Well that pretty much covers all the earth-shattering information you’re required to know before reading my blog. Apart from that, I hope you can enjoy whatever I send your way...
